Origins
The Qur'an describes Ibrahim عليه السلام and Isma'il عليه السلام raising the foundations of the Kaaba, and names it the first House of worship established for mankind. Over centuries the rites were obscured by idolatry, until the Prophet ﷺ purified them and restored the worship of Allah alone.
Surely the first House established for humanity is the one at Bakkah — a blessed sanctuary and a guide for all people.

Growth & status today
Today, permits, Mataf access and Rawdah slots are arranged through the Nusuk platform. The Mataf and the Haram itself have been vastly expanded; the Haramain high-speed railway links Makkah, Jeddah and Madinah; AI-assisted crowd management and multilingual guidance support tens of millions of pilgrims, alongside large-scale distribution of Zamzam.
